As a Chalet Host with Ski Beat, you'll be the heart of our catered ski chalets, ensuring our guests have a fantastic and memorable holiday. You'll be responsible for providing exceptional hospitality, preparing and serving delicious meals, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, and offering friendly assistance throughout their stay. This role demands enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to exceeding guest expectations.
The Chalet Host is responsible for delivering the Ski Beat catered chalet experience which includes:

Guest Liaison:

Warmly welcome guests upon arrival and assist with settling in.

Provide helpful information about the chalet facilities, resort amenities, and local area.

Be a friendly and approachable point of contact for guest inquiries and requests.

Address and resolve guest issues or concerns efficiently and professionally.

Bid farewell to guests upon departure and ensure a smooth departure process.
​​​Catering:

Prepare and serve high-quality breakfasts, afternoon tea, and delicious three-course evening meals according to Ski Beat's menu plans and hygiene standards.

Manage food ordering and stock control, ensuring adequate supplies are available.

Cater to dietary requirements and allergies as communicated by guests.

Maintain a clean and organised kitchen and dining area at all times.
Housekeeping:

Ensure the chalet is kept clean and tidy to a high standard, including daily tidying of communal areas and guest bedrooms twice a week.

Maintain the overall presentation and ambiance of the chalet.

General Assistance:

Support guests with lift passes, ski school and equipment hire.

Maintain a knowledge of the resort and be able to offer recommendations.

Adhere to all health and safety regulations.

Complete weekly reporting & ordering.

Keep pathways clear of ice & snow and conduct basic chalet maintenance.

Carry out a deep clean at the beginning, middle and end of season.

Be a conscientious member of the resort team, assisting other team members as required.

about you.
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with the following skills:

The autonomy to work independently (typically chalets will have only one host).

Ability to follow a menu plan and to cook appetising meals for 8-10 people.

Previous experience within the hospitality or service industry.

Previous experience in housekeeping or cleaning.
-
A love of skiing or snowboarding and all things Alpine, or a strong desire to learn.

Flexibility and willingness to assist other members of the team.
-
Since most of your guests will be British, an excellent level of spoken English is essential.

You will also require:

The right to work in France. i.e EU passport, a French residency permit (Titre de Sejour) or a valid working holiday visa.

For exceptional candidates with relevant chalet experience, Ski Beat can assist with French visa and residency applications.
what we offer.
Contract & Working Time​

A fixed-term, seasonal French contract.

1.5 days off a week (Wednesday & Thursday morning).
Salary​

Monthly salary starting from €2167 gross, rising with experience.

Overtime and holiday pay paid at the end of the contract.

Accommodation

Accommodation available to rent from Ski Beat if needed (typically between €700 - €800pm).

For those who return to work for Ski Beat for + seasons, an accommodation bonus will be applied.​​

Training
-
Ski Beat pay for all staff to complete a Level 2 Food Hygiene for Catering course (valid for 3 years after completion).

Two weeks pre-season training plus exceptional ongoing support from our Area Managers and our local French team.
